Exclusive: Pop! Series 3 Debuts in January! | Pixar Talk:

These Funko Pop! Vinyl figures get better with each new wave. Just enough detail to make each character easy to recognize. The packaging for these 136 odd figures from FunKo is done with the same care and attention to detail as the posable vinyl figures themselves. We will have to wait until January for Series 3 of the Disney Pop! figures.


Series 3 is anticipated to be released exclusively at Disney Store and DisneyStore.com in January 2012

"For Pam Murdock, it was all started by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Murdock received the hand-painted 12-inch tall set from her daughter, Kim Ann, 18 years ago, and she has been collecting Mickey Mouse and Disney items ever since."

Here are a few of the highlights [of her collection]: A Mickey Mouse-shaped hot water bottle, a child’s radio with a wax roller that turns to play music, lamps that have Mickey and Goofy turning the light on and off while speaking; 6-inch tall Mickey and Minnie toys stuffed with sawdust; hand-carved and poseable wood Mickey and Minnie figurines from Mexico; a complete set of the 101 Dalmatians in a felt-lined carrying case from a McDonald’s restaurant; a statue featuring one of the bears like those in the Country Bear Jamboree attraction at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., (it was back-ordered and they didn’t think they would get one); and Tiffany-style lamps with metal character bases and silhouettes that are revealed in the shade when the lamp is turned on.

Richie Sternfeld of Irondequoit is drawn in by a good promotional message.
His apartment is dedicated to his collection of advertising paraphernalia.

"'It's in my blood. It's my life. I can't stop,' Sternfeld says. 'If I sold every item I own and walked down the street and saw a garage sale, I would have to stop and shop.'"

Born and raised in New York City, Sternfeld cannot recall a time when he was not collecting something. How many years that has been is difficult to pinpoint because Sternfeld refuses to discuss his age, an eccentricity that does not come across as incongruous with a man whose hallway is illuminated by a Kentucky Fried Chicken bucket light fixture.

Every item, from the giant Jelly Belly on top of his television to the vacuform cutouts of Hardee's restaurant mascots Gilbert Giddyup and Speedy McGreedy hanging on the living room wall behind his loveseat (he sold the full-size sofa to make room for collectibles), has a story.
