New Set of Simpsons Lego #Minifigs + #Lego #Simpsons Episode May 4

Announced on Leg Godt, the new minifig set from the Simpsons will be released to coincide with the special co-branded lego episode of the Simpsons that airs on May 4 (Fox TV) at 8PM. Sixteen characters of all done with high-resolution details. This set differs from the earlier minifig set where all the characters have half-open eyes, dubbed the "stoned Simpsons".

The "stoned Simpsons" minifigs come with the Lego Simpsons House, which is going for a reasonably low price as of March 27th. Check out my article about Funko Pop Simpson toy figures and other TV show characters that sell for $12 or less.

Huge collectables auction closing today: Vintage Cameras, tin boxes, jewelry, dolls, 1928 card tricks, Redwing - Farm Fresh | JJ's Auction Service

JJ's Auction Service:
One of the best auctions I've seen at JJs auction service in Minnesota - over 260 items up for grabs. Tons of collectables from Red Wing pottery, vintage books from the 1920s, lots of toy tractors, and the usual assortment of brick-a-brac for art projects (which is what I often get from these auctions). JJ couldn't be nicer, and it's easy to get shipping of any item.

Antiques and Collectibles: Fit for a finger - Thimble Collection

Antiques and Collectibles: Fit for a finger - Post Bulletin:
"No one seems to know who actually invented the thimble, but it is believed they were introduced around 7000 BC, at the time when people started using cloth and needles."
As a thimble collector, don’t forget about other related items, like the original Monopoly thimble game piece, which is no longer in production.

JJ's Auction Service:
249.JPG
Lot 249 - Auction ends 3 October

JJ has auctions about once a month and the things you can find there are amazing, and cheap. Even with the cost of shipping, the price is right for many collectables and toys, mid- century furniture -- and complete junk.  It your pleasure to sort through the madness.

Antique valuation popular at lovcal collectors club sale @ Taree | Manning River Times NSW, Australia

A collector's delight - Local News - News - General - Manning River Times: Taree PCYC for the Taree Local Collectors Club annual Exhibition and Trading Fair over the weekend
"About 800 people came through on Saturday and 500 on Sunday and all those asked by Gwen what they thought said it was a 'real eye-opener'.

The people 'couldn't believe what we collect and many of the exhibits brought back memories of by-gone eras,' Gwen said.

'People couldn't be happier with what they saw and many left having made several purchases, and very favourable comments.'

Valuations were extremely popular with a queue both days.

Barry Collier from Isadora Antiques was kept busy with people being prepared to sit and wait for his valued opinion on many items brought in for him to see."

Signed Baseballs worth $60,000 - Babe Ruth's pajamas? | The Republic - Columbus, Indiana

How much for Ruth's pajamas?

Babe Ruth

Baseball card collecting went through a crazy boom period in the 1990s and the entire hobby was a bit soured. New collectors jumped in for the wrong reasons. They were swept up in a mania that stressed that the rookie cards of Hall of Fame players and other stars were the most valuable. Collectors speculated in rookie cards as if they were buying oil futures, purchasing 20 Alex Rodriguez cards under the belief that some day they would be worth a fortune.
Sure enough, the market crashed.
...

Never mind the cost of superstar autographed baseballs (the preferred object to be signed). Just the other day I saw a Babe Ruth signed ball being auctioned off with the bidding at a few shekels under $60,000. Not every Ruth ball costs as much, but none are being sold at the five and dime either.
Would I like to have a Babe Ruth autographed ball in my collection? Sure. But I won’t spend what it takes, even for a faded signature ball at $3,500.
Nor am I going to bite on a Lou Gehrig signed ball for $6,700 or a faded Walter Johnson ball for the same amount. But hey, I found a Hank Aaron ball online for $176. That seems like a bargain.
