"Sheila Harper said a fellow cook once told her that no cook will ever live long enough to try all of the recipes they find. While she finds that thought depressing, she admits it’s likely true.
“I’m kind of a recipe collector,” said Harper, who still considers Chadron “home.” "

Wassily #Kandinsky oeuvre bequeathed to #Vienna art museum Blue Rider Group & related news
FT.com / Arts / Visual Arts - The Blue Rider, Albertina, Vienna:
In 1914, Wassily Kandinsky fled Munich and returned to Moscow. In doing so, he abandoned hundreds of works that were preserved by his lover, the Expressionist painter Gabriele Münter. In 1957, Münter bequeathed the oeuvre to the Lenbachhaus museum in Munich, accompanied by other works from The Blue Rider, a group of artists who had briefly gathered around Kandinsky’s visionary fire.
Supplemented by pieces from the Albertina, Münter’s bequest is the core of this exhibition of Blue Rider works on paper. Including Kandinsky, Münter, Franz Marc, August Macke, Alfred Kubin, Paul Klee, Alexei von Jawlensky, Marianne von Werefkin, Heinrich Campendonk and Lyonel Feininger, it is the first time all the principal Blue Rider artists have been exhibited together.
The Blue Rider was an ephemeral phenomenon. The name was dreamt up in late 1911 by Kandinsky and Marc as the title of an almanac. (Kandinsky said: “We both loved blue. Marc loved horses. I loved riders. The name came by itself.”)
