NYCC 2012 costumes + Marvel x Vans sneakers Funko Pop! Hobbit

A collection of the best costumes at the Comic Con gathered for a photo op at the Stylin online booth. A solid 10% of the attendees had some kind of costume, maybe more. The crowds ran thick near the front of the room, so it's hard to get past outfits with pointy shoulders, or trying to get past all the men with blades. The best part is watching Batman or Tin Tin walking down the streets of Metropolis just doing their thing. Funko Pop! and Comic Con shirts, below.

Leather postcards

Keep a cozy corner in your heart for me - new postcards in the collection at dotpattern: digital museum of collecting. Have you ever seen leather postcards before?

1917 Greensboro NC

My friend gave me these cool leather postcards for a birthday present. He lives in Raleigh. I've never seen hides used for love letters or postcards.

These are from the early "pioneer" era of postcards when you could old write the address on the card. There was no space reserved for a message, but often times folks would write witty statements as a caption to the pre-printed images on the front.

I Wish you Luck leather postcard

It's a coincidence that my relatives have the surname Scarborough, the same name inscribed on these cards.
