"Polsky was there when one of his fossil hunting friends did win the lottery. He was out on a dig with Bob Detrich (aka 'The Fossil King') when they uncovered a T. rex fragment. 'In the T. rex world, when you find a dinosaur, you have the honor of naming it after anyone you want,' Polsky says. Bob decided to name the fossil 'Little Richard' — after his faithful assistant, Richard Polsky.

Rare Beatles acetate, “A Hard Day’s Night,” sold for $2225 @Goldmine's record auction countdown

Price realized $2,225.99, The Beatles, “A Hard Day’s Night,” 12-inch Emidisc acetate.

Here’s a fairly rare Fab Four find: a 12-inch, double-sided, mono acetate for The Beatles’ “A Hard Day’s Night” album.

It features all 14 songs included on the final album. The seller graded it VG to VG- and says the acetate is free of skips and jumps, but it has some pops and background noises and a lot of light hairline marks all over. (If I was going to have a rarity like this, I’m not sure I’d ever want it to be played more than once to record a copy on CD or MP3.) The seller had little else to add, other than the lot included a certificate of authenticity from Beatles expert Perry Cox.

Seven bids were exchanged before a winner was declared.

“This is where it all started,” said photographer and author Jon Nordstrøm when The Copenhagen Post met him outside of Nyhavn 17, home to Tattoo-Ole, the oldest functioning tattoo shop in the world.

Photographer Jon Nordstrøm covers over 100 years of history in his photo book ‘Danish Tattooing’

Nordstrøm began researching the history of tattooing in Copenhagen a few years ago, collecting enough photographs, anecdotes and historical artefacts to put together the 300-page photo book ‘Dansk Tatovering/Danish Tattooing’, which he released in 2009."
