This copy of "The Return of the King" was part of a boxed trilogy set signed by J.R.R. Tolkien and valued to sell at around $30,000.
While e-books are increasing in popularity and independent and chain bookstores have begun to struggle over the last few years, there are still those who enjoy collecting actual paper books, especially those rare first editions.
