World #Paper Money Auction April >> Spink (London) #Australian Griffiths

Spink Readies World Paper Money Sale:

"World paper collectors are again spoilt for choice in Spink’s mid-April London sale. Not only has Director of Bank Notes Barnaby Faull, harvested another remarkable group of rarities from across the globe, but two significant collections will be going on the block: those of Peter Griffiths and Laurence Pope."

Peter Griffiths is an Australian who for many years was resident in Hong Kong. He simply collected notes that appealed to his eye. His Chinese holdings were sold by Spink in January. The remaining world notes make up some 550 lots. Top of the tree is the superb and rarely seen Iran 1,000 tomans specimen of 1890.

Potential bidders need to confirm the accuracy of the details provided of here in either the hard copy catalogs or at www.spink.com.
